Network therapy (Galanter 1999) can be defined as a multimodal approach to rehabilitation
in which specific family members and friends are enlisted to provide
ongoing support and promote attitude change. The goal of this approach is
the prompt achievement of abstinence, with relapse prevention and
the development of a drug-free adaptation. Network members are part
of the therapist's working team and are not recipients
of treatment.
